Premium Ancestral Tour Package

The Premium Ancestral Tour was designed for our guests who would like to learn more about their Italian family tree before visiting their ancestral village in Calabria.

How does it work?

We will exchange a few emails to better understand the goals for your trip.

Then, your Calabria-based guide will spend a day on-site in your family’s village, speaking to local priests and city officials about your family’s history. On the morning of your tour, your guide will pick you up at Il Cedro Bed and Breakfast and drive you to your family’s village.

There, you will:
- Visit the city hall
- Explore the village’s churches and cemeteries
- Have unique photo opportunities in the village
- Meet with local priests and officials
- Enjoy lunch in a local trattoria or agriturismo

What do you get?

Genealogy Research
* One full day research conducted in your village prior to your arrival in Calabria. (The researcher / guide is on-the-ground in your village, knocking on doors, talking to locals, looking for the home(s) your family members lived in and trying to find people who knew your family.)

Bed and Breakfast
* Two nights at Il Cedro B&B (with breakfast, free parking and WiFi).

Guided Tour
* One day tour with a bilingual guide who will escort you into your ancestral village, interpret at the city hall, help you meet with locals and show you local points of interest.
* One day car services with your guide* (The cost of your guide driving you to / from your village is included in the price. If you’d like a professional car service, it is typically an additional €250 per day.)

Lunch
* Lunch in local trattoria, agriturismo or restaurant, including wine, liquors and dessert.

Travel Planning Services
* A professional evaluation of your southern Italy/ Calabria itinerary, with helpful tips and points to improve your vacation.

Pricing and Extras
The price is €470 per person based on double occupancy. A single supplement will apply.

* The price is based on villages located in the Province of Catanzaro. Other villages are available, but additional transportation and guide fees may apply.

Add-Ons:
- Additional nights at Il Cedro Bed and Breakfast are available at the average nightly seasonal rate.
- Excursions and day trips are available from Il Cedro B&B and can be arranged for an additional fee.
