Exclusively Yours! Friends and Family Ancestry Tour

The Exclusively Yours! Friends and Family Ancestry Tour is an exclusive tour that takes our guests through the heart of their family’s Italian heritage and introduces them to living relatives in their ancestral village.

How does it work?

We will exchange a few emails, then you’ll begin working with a professional genealogist who specializes in Italian ancestry.

She’ll spend up to ten hours researching your lineage and will report her findings to our on-site guides.

At that point, your Calabria-based guide will spend two days on-site in your family’s village, speaking to priests, city officials and locals while scouting the village for living relatives.

On the morning of your tour, your guide will pick you up at Il Cedro Bed and Breakfast and drive you to your family’s village.

There, you will:
- Meet your living relatives
- Visit the city hall
- Explore the village’s churches and cemeteries
- See the streets, houses and churches from your family’s past
- Have unique photo opportunities in the village
- Meet with local priests and officials
- Enjoy lunch in a local trattoria or agriturismo

What do you get?

Genealogy Research
* Professional genealogical research (up to ten hours) conducted prior to your arrival in Calabria.
* Two full days of research conducted in your village prior to your arrival in Calabria. (The researcher / guide is on-the-ground in your village, knocking on doors, talking to locals, looking for the homes your family members lived in and trying to find living relatives who *you* can meet once you are here!)

Bed and Breakfast
* Three nights at Il Cedro Bed and Breakfast in Catanzaro, with breakfast daily, free parking and WiFi

Guided Tour
* One day tour with a bilingual guide who will escort you into your ancestral village, show you local points of interest and introduce you the family members (s)he met during research.
* One day car services with your guide* (The cost of your guide driving you to / from your village is included in the price. If you’d like a professional car service, it is typically an additional €250 per day.)

Lunch
* Lunch in local trattoria, agriturismo or restaurant, including wine, liquors and dessert.

Travel Planning Services
* A custom consult for your Calabria vacation, including route and (other) base city selections, personalized recommendations for hotels, restaurants, day trips, activities and excursions for up to two cities in Calabria and/or southern Italy.

Pricing and Extras
The price is €356 per person, per day based on double occupancy and three nights in Calabria. A single supplement will apply.

* The price is based on villages located in the Province of Catanzaro. Other villages are available, but additional transportation and guide fees may apply.
